Day 2 of our Substance Abuse Prevention campaign, today we had 18 grade 6-12 learners and about 28 grade 1-7 learners attend the program. We shared with the high school learners about our own experience with drugs and addiction and spoke at length about choices and how they are influenced by our reality, society, self image, peer pressure, boredom and rebelliousness.
With the primary school learners we did actions and told them some nice stories that they can identify with and they can see themselves in every story. Today was the first time in 9 years that I told these stories again and although I am a bit rusted, the message came across very clearly.
